Partnership for Procurement (P4P) is kick starting their roadshow with a trip to Aberdeen on the 30th October.  P4P Roadshow event will be, delivered jointly with Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire Shared Procurement Service. The event is a fantastic opportunity to speak to the team about the range of services P4P offers, learn about the changes for supported business and find out more about the ‘refreshed’ RfB Third Sector Register.  During the session, you will hear about the impact of the sustainable procurement duty and the Councils’ commitment on supplying to the public sector including - how procurement processes can be used to improve the economic, social and environmental wellbeing of the local area, deliver community benefits and value for money. Register here.

Join Social Firms Scotland at their AGM and seminar exploring how social enterprises can deliver more person-centred outcomes for people with significant barriers to work. Hear from Social Firm practitioners about the work they are doing to support people furthest from the labour market, the PSP approach to employability and the opportunities for Supported Businesses under the broadened definition. Take a look at the draft programme and book your place here.

Fife SEN is to restart, with the first new meeting scheduled for Wednesday 13th December. The event will be hosted by Fife Volunteer Action at their New Volunteer House in Kirkcaldy, starting at 10am. The informal session will include a facilitated session on community asset transfers, as well as a chance to hobnob and build connections with local social enterprises. FSEN have also taken the decision to open the event to wider third sector organisations in Fife, with plans to look at Fife-based sub groups including tourism and employability, which would work in tandem with Senscot’s thematic SENs. FSEN are keen for the event to be well attended so please share the news with your Fife SE pals. More details to follow in coming weeks.

Health SEN member Feel the Warmth CIC are promoting their range of heated kidney belts and home wear in time for winter. The belts, currently being trialled by Alzheimer Scotland, are designed to prevent body temperature dipping to a dangerous point in cold, poorly-heated homes. Feel the Warmth are currently working with Heriot Watt University to install trackers in the belts, which would alert next of kin to a perceived risk due to inactivity. For more information, visit the Feel the Warmth website or contact Jean Rooney on info@ftwscotland.com.
